Transportation Work Area

Converting to “alternative” transportation and creating safe environments for bicyclists and pedestrians.

The Transportation Work Area focuses on ways to improve and to find alternate means of transportation.  The overall goal of the Transportation Work Area is to make the Stillwater area cleaner, safer, and healthier for all of our residents and visitors.  This Work Area consists of two work groups.

One (Bicycle Friendly Community) focuses on improving bicycling and pedestrian safety and accessibility, primarily using the Complete Streets methodology. The second (EV Charging) focuses on the promotion and use of EVs to and within Stillwater. This is done primarily by increasing accessibility to EV charging in Stillwater. Both of these work groups significantly factor into the SSMN climate action strategies by reducing overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from gas-powered cars.
