About the Event

Sustainable Stillwater MN is proud to cohost and promote From Fork to Forest, a timely and engaging conversation about the powerful—and often overlooked—role our food system plays in the climate crisis. Even with rapid progress on clean energy, emissions tied to food production, land use, and consumption continue to push the planet beyond safe climate limits. This presentation explores why meaningful climate solutions must include how and what we eat.

Led by Nicola Philpott and Anna Larsson, this lively, science-informed talk connects climate impacts from farm to forest while keeping the focus on practical, everyday actions. Drawing from experience in science, community-based food programs, and climate advocacy, the presenters will share accessible steps individuals can take at their very next meal to reduce environmental harm and support healthier ecosystems.

Sustainable Stillwater MN is promoting this event because food choices intersect directly with our mission to support environmental protection, community resilience, and climate action at the local level. By partnering with regional climate organizations and elevating educational events like this one, we aim to help our community better understand how personal actions connect to global challenges—and how collective change can begin right here in the Stillwater area.

Bonus Resource

If you’d like a preview or are unable to attend in person, we encourage you to watch a recorded version of this talk presented through the Climate Reality Central Minnesota chapter of The Climate Reality Project. The chapter brings together activists, scientists, organizers, and storytellers committed to building a sustainable future, and this video offers valuable insight into the ideas that will be shared at the event.
