Kids’ Costume Swap 2026
Instead of throw it, SWAP IT!
Time & Location
Oct 14, 2026, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Washington County North Environmental Ce, 6065 Headwaters Pkwy, Forest Lake, MN 55025, USA
About the Event
Just in time for spooky season, the Kids’ Costume Swap—hosted by the Washington County Environmental Center —offers families a fun and sustainable way to prepare for Halloween. Instead of purchasing new costumes that may only be worn once, participants can swap gently used costumes and accessories with others in the community.
This free event takes place at both Environmental Center locations and is open to all. Donations are accepted prior to the event, and any remaining costumes are shared locally—making this a festive and eco-friendly way to celebrate the season.

Sustainable Stillwater MN proudly promotes swap events like this because they embody the principles of reuse, waste reduction, and community connection. By exchanging items instead of discarding them, these events help conserve resources, reduce landfill waste, and make sustainable choices more accessible and affordable. Swap events are a simple, tangible way for individuals to participate in a circular economy—keeping usable goods in circulation and strengthening community ties in the process.
