About the Event
Join us for Lakes in Hot Water: A History of Climate Change in Lake, a compelling talk by Jay Austin, professor at the Large Lakes Observatory and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Drawing from over two decades of research on Lake Superior, Austin will explore how large lakes are changing over time—examining shifts in seasonality, ice cover, water levels, and ecosystem dynamics. His work blends science and storytelling, offering a deeper understanding of how climate change is reshaping the waters that define our region.
This live, in-person event will be held at the White Bear Lake Library on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 6:30 PM
