Join us for a memorable family-friendly event dedicated to restoring and enhancing the bird habitat at Long Lake. The Long Lake Bird Habitat Planting Party is set to take place on May 18th, 2024, with a rain date scheduled for May 19th. From 9AM to 12PM, we invite participants of all ages to come together at Croixwood Open Square for a day filled with meaningful activities.

The City of Stillwater has just received exciting news of being approved for the first time to be recognized as a Tree City USA. The upcoming tree planting party will also serve as our official Arbor Day celebration, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Date & Location

Date: May 18th, 2024 (Rain date: May 19th) Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Croixwood Open Square, situated on the east side of Long Lake.

Our primary objectives for the day include:

  1. Planting 300 tree seedlings to bolster the bird habitat.
  2. Erecting deer fencing around each newly planted tree to protect them.
  3. Removing invasive species such as buckthorn and garlic mustard, which threatens the ecological balance of the area.

Bird Habitat Expansion

We are passionate about expanding and nurturing the bird habitat at Long Lake. By planting native tree seedlings and removing invasive species, we aim to create a thriving ecosystem that provides food and shelter for a diverse range of bird species. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute to the preservation of local bird populations and promote biodiversity in the area.
