About the Event

Did you know that Bird City Stillwater, a project of Sustainable Stillwater MN, has been promoting and educating the community about bird and glass collision prevention strategies? Some examples of how we've been working on this are displays of researched, effective examples, literature at events, and social media educational posts.

Join us for "A Pane in the Glass", a special webinar on April 17, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day. This informative event will explore one of the leading causes of bird mortality—collisions with windows.

Hear from Michael Mesure, Executive Director and Cofounder of the Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) Canada, along with experts from the American Bird Conservancy and Feather Friendly. Together, they will discuss the latest research on bird collisions, practical solutions to reduce risks, and innovative bird-safe building practices.

Discover how simple changes to windows and building designs can make a significant difference in protecting migratory birds. Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, or conservation advocate, you’ll come away with actionable steps to make your space safer for our feathered friends.

Sustainable Stillwater MN is proud to support and promote this important event as part of our commitment to bird conservation and community education.
