About the Event
Join Great River Greening for a hands-on Community Pollinator Monitoring training at the Stillwater Public Library on June 23 at 5:30 PM. This one-hour session will equip you with the skills to identify key pollinator groups—like bumble bees, butterflies, and honey bees—and prepare you to participate in meaningful, real-world conservation work.
After completing the training, volunteers can “adopt” a local monitoring site and conduct simple 30-minute surveys four to six times between July and September. These efforts contribute valuable data that helps restore and protect Minnesota’s native landscapes. While additional trainings are offered across the region, this Stillwater session is a convenient, local opportunity to get involved.
At Sustainable Stillwater MN, we believe that local action drives lasting environmental impact. Supporting community-based efforts like pollinator monitoring aligns directly with our mission to foster a healthier, more resilient ecosystem. Pollinators play a critical role in food systems and biodiversity, and empowering residents with the knowledge and tools to protect them is a powerful step toward sustainability. We’re proud to help connect our community with opportunities like this that turn learning into action.
