About the Event
Join Bird City Gardens for a hands-on morning of environmental stewardship at the Weed Pull for Mulberry Ravine Bird Station on Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to noon. Held at 420 William St N in Stillwater, this community event invites volunteers to help remove invasive weeds from the ravine slope beside the newly established Mulberry Ravine Bird Station. In appreciation, participants will receive a free native shrub or tree—serviceberry, cranberry, or elderberry—to take home and plant.
Led by Stillwater City Forester Andrew Coyne, the event highlights the importance of restoring native habitats to support birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Native plants not only promote biodiversity and ecosystem health but also play a critical role in climate resilience by reducing water usage, improving air quality, and storing carbon. Volunteers will also enjoy refreshments, access to restrooms, and the satisfaction of giving back to their local environment.
Sustainable Stillwater MN is proud to support this event as it aligns directly with our mission to promote environmental sustainability, biodiversity, and community engagement. The Weed Pull encourages urban forest restoration, climate action through ecological practices, and public education about the impact of local efforts. Events like these strengthen Stillwater’s resilience while nurturing a deeper connection between people and the natural world.
