About the Event
Climate action can feel overwhelming and inadequate. The change required isn’t happening anywhere near the scale or speed necessary. So how do we stay motivated and committed to the cause? Join MCEA as we speak with an attorney and energy policy expert, a climate activist, and a solutions-journalist to talk about how they build resilience and find hope in their respective climate work. Register today for this thought-provoking and inspiring conversation about sustaining the climate movement, and ourselves. Featuring: Sachiko Graber - The founder of a climate consulting company in the Twin Cities that focuses on developing, implementing, and scaling climate solutions that help societies thrive. She aims to “bridge the gap between climate change, community action and social justice.” Nora Hertel - After a decade working as an investigative reporter, Nora Hertel left traditional media to found solutions-focused journalism digital start-up, Project Optimist. The online publication focuses on surfacing solutions to environmental, business and social challenges in greater Minnesota. Barbara Freese - Who has been tackling climate change since the 1990s, first at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, next at Union of Concerned Scientists, and most recently at MCEA, where Freese works as an attorney and energy policy consultant. She’s fought Big Coal, helped secure transformational clean energy policies, and authored two books.
