About the Event

The splendor and breathtaking beauty of the natural world is set to be celebrated in Minneapolis. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival tour is making a stop, hosted by Wild Rivers Conservancy. This 90-minute film screening is scheduled at Surly Brewing Company on Tuesday, November 7th, with doors opening at 6:00 PM.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a tribute to the natural beauty surrounding us, encouraging viewers worldwide to step up in its protection. While many are aware of the pressing environmental challenges today, not all know how to play a part in combating them. This event provides a platform for Twin Cities residents to support local environmental advocacy by participating in the Wild Rivers Conservancy's Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour.

Participants will be treated to nine engrossing short documentaries covering a diverse range of subjects from outdoor activities, scientific environmental studies, to thrilling adventure travels. A standout film of the evening focuses on Minnesota's Emily Ford in "Breaking Trail." Even for those who know her tale, the emotion of Emily's endeavor with a borrowed sled dog named Diggins, attempting the 1200-mile Ice Age Trail in freezing temperatures, is palpable. Notably, she is the first woman and person of color to undertake such a challenge.

In the intervals between the films, attendees can savor the gourmet offerings and brews from Surly Brew Co., and also stand a chance to win prizes from event sponsors. Every participant will receive a reusable Wild Rivers Conservancy metal solo cup and other environment-centric treats.
