Social Media Content Creator

Sustainable Stillwater MN is looking for a Social Media Content Creator. The desired applicant is someone who can create consumable, creative content that is interesting and educational about and for Sustainable Stillwater MN.

Parameters of the job:

  • Effectively take direction from the SSMN Communications Committee

  • Gain a good general understanding of SSMN and all workgroups within the organization

  • Submit 16-20 posts per month following our communication calendar (posts should be adaptable for both Facebook and Instagram)

  • Posts range in current information about climate change and environmental issues to promoting SSMN’s workgroups, projects, and initiatives

  • Pay is $25.00 per post

  • Each post includes an original picture/graphic/video, body of text, and relevant hashtags

  • All posts for each month are due on the last Friday of the preceding month, so there is time for review and any edits, and to schedule the posts for the following month.

Requirements:

  • must be proficient with Canva

  • must be proficient in Google Apps

  • must have their own computer/laptop/tablet (a way to create the posts)

  • must have a strong interest in climate/environmental issues with a basic understanding of these issues

  • must reside in 50-mile radius of Stillwater, Minnesota

  • must have personal transportation to attend meetings in person as needed

Additional possible qualifications:

  • have studied climate/environmental issues OR have background experience regarding current climate/environmental issues

  • experience and understanding of managing social media accounts in order to perform analytics and optimize outreach and impact

  • experience and understanding of placing ads on social media platforms

Skills:

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong digital design skills

  • Creative, consistent, and reliable
