About Event
Monarch butterflies embark on an incredible yet dangerous journey throughout their lives. From the moment they hatch as eggs, transform into larvae, pupate into chrysalises, and finally emerge as adults, these resilient creatures must navigate countless threats. Their annual migration, spanning thousands of miles to the mountains of Mexico, is fraught with challenges, including predation, habitat loss, dwindling food sources, climate change, and pesticide exposure.
This presentation highlights the monarch’s fascinating life cycle, their reliance on milkweed for reproduction, and the crucial role of nectar-rich plants in sustaining them during migration. It also explores practical conservation efforts to safeguard this beloved species for future generations.
