May 5 Brown's Creek Park Planting

Volunteer on Wednesday, May 5th!


Under the direction of Graham Tait, Stillwater's City Zoning Administrator, we'll be planting/seeding 1000 sq. ft. with 75 six-packs of various native plants, grasses, and flowers obtained from Landscape Alternatives, Inc.



Who: All able-bodied volunteers are invited to help.


When: Wednesday, May 5th - 10 AM - 2 PM | The rain date will be Thursday, May 6th.


Where: Brown's Creek Park, 8312 Neal Ave N, Stillwater, MN


What To Bring: Bring your own shovel, fork, and gloves if you have them, otherwise the Public Works Dept. will be providing limited gardening equipment. Water and snacks will be available.

STILLWATER, MINNESOTA, April 30, 2021 - Help make Stillwater an Audubon Bird City!

Volunteers are needed to plant native plants, flowers, and grasses to restore bird habitat.


The event takes place at Brown’s Creek Park, 8312 Neal Ave N, Stillwater, on May 5, starting at 10 am.


At least a dozen volunteers are needed to install bird-friendly native plants over a 1,000-square-foot area of the park. The city has purchased 75 six-packs of small plants, from Landscape Alternatives, Inc., a native plant nursery near Taylor’s Falls.


Bring your own hat, shovel, fork, and gloves if you have them, otherwise the Public Works

Dept. will be providing limited gardening equipment. Water and snacks will be available.

The City of Stillwater has joined with Sustainable Stillwater MN to commit to fulfilling Audubon


Society’s national requirements needed to be designated an Audubon Bird City. Another requirement is to celebrate migratory birds with the community. Sustainable Stillwater MN’s GreenStep Team will host the city’s first Migratory Bird Festival on May 15 from 9 am-1 pm at Pioneer Park.
