SSMN brought face painting, stickers, activities, and plenty of smiles to the Bridge the Valley Kids Zone at South Lowell Park! About 75 kids and more than 100 adults stopped by to play, connect, and learn a little more about SSMN and Valley Climate Action Week.

Sustainable Stillwater MN had a wonderful time connecting with hundreds of community members during Night to Unite 2026 through games, conversations, and a community-wide survey. The evening reinforced an important takeaway: no matter your age, a personal invitation is still one of the best ways to bring people together.

Hear how a $50,000 BizRecycling grant helped a local business, explore the world of green investing, and build valuable connections with others committed to making a difference.

Our Bird City Program recently attended Landscape Revival in Lake Elmo, where we connected with dozens of people from across Minnesota and Wisconsin about the power of native plants. By planting natives, we can support pollinators, provide food for birds, and create healthier ecosystems right in our own backyards.

Nearly 180 local 4th grade students explored the St. Croix River during this year’s Wild River Journey, where they learned bird identification, practiced using binoculars, and experienced local wildlife up close. Through SSMN’s Bird City partnership with Wild Rivers Conservancy, volunteers helped create a fun and memorable environmental education experience on the river.

Join Sustainable Stillwater MN for a hands-on habitat restoration event at Lumberjack Landing Park on June 7. Volunteers will help plant 175 native trees and shrubs to support migratory birds, biodiversity, and climate resilience along the St. Croix River flyway.

Celebrate National Bike Month this May by hopping on your bike, joining local events, and trying something new with Bike Month Bingo. From quick rides to community connections, every mile makes a difference for your health and the planet.

The 4th Annual Valley Eco Fair brought more than 750 community members together for a vibrant day of connection, learning, and action around sustainability. From EV test drives that raised $10,000 for local charging infrastructure to hands-on experiences for all ages, this year’s fair showed just how powerful community-driven impact can be—share your feedback to help shape next year’s event.

On a chilly April morning, 25 dedicated bird lovers gathered at Long Lake to explore the sights and sounds of spring migration. From Great Egrets to Pileated Woodpeckers, the tour turned a cold day into a vibrant reminder of the biodiversity right in our backyard.
