Keynote Speaker Announced for Mission: Possible –Dr. Jonathan Foley, a Global Climate Solutions Expert

We’re thrilled to announce the keynote speaker for our fourth annual fundraiser, Mission: Possible – An Evening of Climate Action: the internationally renowned Dr. Jonathan Foley, Executive Director of Project Drawdown.

Dr. Foley is one of the world’s leading voices in environmental science and climate solutions. With a career spanning decades, he has shaped global conversations on sustainability, food systems, and the protection of natural resources. His work focuses not just on the problems of climate change, but on the solutions—clear, science-backed strategies that communities like ours can put into action.

A scientist by training and a communicator by passion, Dr. Foley holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin. He has authored over 140 scientific papers—many in Nature, Science, and other leading journals—placing him in the top 1% of most-cited researchers worldwide.

Over the years, Dr. Foley has advised top leaders in government, philanthropy, business, and academia. He has directed major institutions like the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE), the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment, and the California Academy of Sciences. His clear, compelling insights have reached global audiences through TED Talks, National Geographic, The New York Times, The Aspen Institute, and more.
