This year’s Night to Unite was more than a neighborhood celebration — it was a moment to connect with our community over shared values and small actions that add up to big environmental impact.

Sustainable Stillwater MN hosted a booth in Washington Square Park, where we chatted with residents about the ways they’re already protecting our environment and explored what more we can all do. From solar panels to EVs, our neighbors are leading the way! One middle school health teacher even shared how she’s integrating climate education into her classroom, thanks to new funding support. We love hearing how local leadership starts right at home.

Youth visitors especially stole the show — learning how simple steps like composting, unplugging devices, or planting milkweed for butterflies can make a difference. Many made a personal pledge at our table to take a new action for a cleaner future.
A big thank you to the Stillwater Police Department for organizing such a vibrant and welcoming event. We also appreciated the meaningful conversations with city council members and our neighbors at the Stillwater Human Rights Commission — be sure to check out the photo of their interactive “jar activity”!
Together, we’re building a stronger, greener Stillwater — one conversation at a time.
