Valley Climate Action Week is Coming This September!

Climate action doesn't happen in just one day—it happens when a community comes together.

That's why Sustainable Stillwater MN is excited to launch the first-ever Valley Climate Action Week, taking place September 14–19, 2026. This new week-long celebration is designed to make it easy for everyone to participate, whether you want to volunteer, learn something new, spend time outdoors, or simply connect with others who care about building a more sustainable future.

As Executive Director Andi Arnold shares:

"As our organization has grown, we've been asking ourselves an important question: How can we create opportunities for everyone to participate? Climate action is strongest when it's inclusive, welcoming, and accessible. That's why we're reimagining our annual celebration into a week of events where everyone can find a way to get involved."

Throughout the week, you'll find educational talks, hands-on volunteer projects, family-friendly activities, community celebrations, and opportunities to explore local solutions that are making a difference across the St. Croix Valley.

Stay Connected

We're just getting started! New events, speakers, volunteer opportunities, and special announcements will continue to be added throughout the summer.

Help Us Celebrate Local Sustainability Leaders

Do you know someone making a lasting difference in our community?

We're accepting nominations for the 2026 Sustainability Leadership Awards, recognizing individuals, businesses, nonprofits, educators, public servants, and community groups whose work is helping create a healthier, more sustainable St. Croix Valley.

Whether they're improving energy efficiency, restoring natural spaces, advancing clean transportation, supporting local food systems, educating others, or leading innovative community projects, we want to hear their story.

Nominations are open through August 15, 2026, and award recipients will be recognized during A Celebration of Science & Sustainability on Thursday, September 17.
