Sustainable Stillwater MN is excited to welcome Brett Swanson as our newest board member, joining us in November 2025. With a deep passion for community, collaboration, and environmental responsibility, Brett brings both professional expertise and personal heart to our mission of building a more sustainable Stillwater.
Brett currently serves as a Senior Director of Ameriprise Financial Services, a role that has strengthened his belief in the power of positive change through teamwork, thoughtful problem-solving, and innovation. He and his wife, Tina, have lived in Stillwater for many years, raising their three now-adult children here. Rooted in this community, Brett understands how small, consistent actions can make a big difference over time.
When he’s not working, you can find Brett enjoying the outdoors, diving into a good book, or cheering on his favorite Minnesota sports teams. His love for nature and community is what fuels his commitment to sustainability—and why he’s excited to roll up his sleeves and get involved.

I align with this mission through my commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement. Whether it's reducing waste, supporting local and sustainable businesses or advocating for clean energy and conservation efforts, I strive to make choices that contribute to a healthier, more resilient Stillwater area.”
