Rosie Russell has joined the Sustainable Stillwater MN Board of Directors, bringing over a decade of experience in sustainability, equity, and community engagement. As the founder of Community Kinetics, she is dedicated to uplifting underrepresented voices and strengthening the connection between people, place, and nature.

Sustainable Stillwater MN is excited to welcome Brett Swanson to our Board of Directors as of November 2025. Brett brings a passion for community-level environmental action and a deep commitment to building a more resilient, sustainable Stillwater.

Sustainable Stillwater MN is proud to announce two new grant awards totaling $45,000 to support our mission in the St. Croix Valley. With funding from the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation and the St. Croix Valley Foundation, we’re expanding our impact and driving real environmental change in our community.

Kelsey Depew has been a guiding force behind Sustainable Stillwater MN since 2018—transforming our communications, building digital systems, and bringing our mission to life with clarity and heart. As she steps fully into her staff role, we honor the legacy she’s helped create.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Mark Schwantes for his dedication and care in helping keep downtown Stillwater beautiful and litter-free. For years, Mark volunteered his time and energy to empty the cigarette butt containers and clean up litter around them—ensuring sidewalks, streets, and storm drains stayed clear of toxic debris that could otherwise end up in our beloved St. Croix River.

Erin brings a wealth of leadership experience, a passion for service, and a deep commitment to sustainability to SSMN.
