Welcoming Rosie Russell to the Sustainable Stillwater MN Board of Directors

Sustainable Stillwater MN is thrilled to welcome Rosie Russell, who officially joined our Board of Directors as of November 2025!

Rosie is a Stillwater resident and the founder of Community Kinetics, a local social sustainability consulting business rooted in uplifting community voices—especially the underrepresented stakeholders working tirelessly to restore our local food systems and water resources. With over a decade of experience in sustainability, equity, community engagement, and planning, Rosie brings a powerful blend of lived passion and professional expertise to our organization.

Rosie Russell

Her work has always centered on the belief that sustainability must include everyone—that meaningful environmental progress happens when communities feel a sense of belonging, empowerment, and connection to the land. Rosie cares deeply about creating inclusive spaces where people can become stewards of the environment in ways that honor their own needs, values, and cultural relationships with nature.

Rosie is especially passionate about the intersections of built infrastructure, human connection, and nature’s wisdom. This lens aligns closely with Sustainable Stillwater MN’s mission to build a healthier, more resilient community through local action. Her background in environmental planning, water stewardship, and social impact evaluation strengthens our capacity to foster initiatives that are environmentally sound and community-centered.

Outside her professional world, Rosie brings a spirit of play and curiosity to her love of the outdoors—whether she's skiing, gardening, fly fishing, kayaking, or swimming. She believes that “in nature, there’s always some fun to be had,” a mindset that reflects the joy and inspiration many of us find in Stillwater’s treasured landscapes.

Rosie shared that she has long admired Sustainable Stillwater MN and is excited to finally get involved at a deeper level. Her commitment to social and environmental sustainability—and to supporting her local community—makes her a wonderful addition to our board.

Please join us in welcoming Rosie Russell! We are grateful for the insight, enthusiasm, and heart she brings to our work.
