SSMN brought the fun to the Bridge the Valley Bike Rally on Sunday, August 9, 2026, with a Kids Zone at South Lowell Park! While cyclists enjoyed the ride, families stopped by to let the kids play, get creative, and enjoy a few activities of their own.

About 75 kids joined in throughout the day, along with more than 100 adults. Face painting was the star of the show, with a steady stream of kids lining up to get their faces transformed. Stickers, games, and free flower and plant seeds added to the fun and gave families plenty of reasons to stop by the SSMN tent.

The Kids Zone also gave us a chance to connect with adults about Sustainable Stillwater MN and Valley Climate Action Week. Some attendees had just finished the bike rally, while others were there to cheer on family members or enjoy the festival atmosphere.
And what an atmosphere it was! With live music, food trucks, a beer garden, bikes coming and going, and plenty of happy kids, South Lowell Park was buzzing with energy. We were glad to be part of the day and help make the post-ride celebration a little more fun for families.
A big thank-you to Stillwater Sunrise Rotary for hosting the Bridge the Valley Bike Rally and to everyone who helped make the Kids Zone possible. And, of course, thanks to all the kids who stopped by for a little face paint, a sticker, a seed packet—or all three!
