E-Bike Rebate Lottery Now Open! Apply by August 7 to Save Up to $750

Starting today, July 30 at 11 a.m., eligible Minnesotans can apply for the 2025 Electric-Assisted Bicycle (E-Bike) Rebate Program through the Minnesota Department of Revenue. If you're thinking about switching to more sustainable transportation, now’s your chance to save big on a brand-new e-bike!

Application deadline: Wednesday, August 7 at 2 p.m. Central Time
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, you must either:
Be under a qualifying income limit, OR
Be an individual with a disability
Income Limits (based on 2024 AGI):
$78,000 or less – married filing jointly
$62,000 or less – head of household
$41,000 or less – all other individuals
Disability Criteria (any one of these qualifies):
Receiving SSDI, SSI, or MA-EPD
Receiving home and community-based disability waiver services
Additional Requirements:
Be at least 15 years old
Be a Minnesota resident for 2023, 2024, and 2025
Have filed MN income taxes for 2023 and 2024
Not be claimed as a dependent in 2024
How Much Is the Rebate Worth?
The rebate covers 75% of eligible e-bike expenses, up to $750. This includes:
The cost of a new e-bike
Assembly fees (if applicable)
Select accessories purchased at the same time
If you’re selected via the random lottery, you’ll receive a rebate certificate to use when purchasing your e-bike at an approved retailer. Keep in mind—you’ll need to report the rebate amount on your 2025 state tax return. One application per person only. Duplicates will be deleted.
