Washington County’s Climate Action Plan is moving into its next phase — and Sustainable Stillwater MN is proud to be part of the process.

Over the past year, we’ve truly enjoyed collaborating with Washington County staff and connecting with organizations, partners, and community members across the region who are focused on practical climate solutions and building a more resilient future together.
Now, public feedback is needed.
The Climate Action Plan (CAP) is designed to help Washington County prepare for and respond to climate impacts while identifying strategies to reduce emissions and strengthen environmental, economic, and community resilience.
The planning process has included several phases:
Gather Data & Define Priorities (June–October 2025): Reviewing baseline data, existing conditions, and early stakeholder input.
Goal Setting (November 2025–March 2026): Establishing climate goals and objectives informed by technical analysis and community feedback.
Develop Strategies (April–June 2026): Creating strategies to meet climate goals and gathering public input on priorities.
Action Planning & Implementation (July–November 2026): Developing detailed implementation actions and evaluating how success will be measured.
We are currently in the Develop Strategies phase, and Washington County is asking residents to help prioritize goals and strategies for the future.
Please take a few minutes to complete the public survey and share your thoughts. Your feedback will help shape both county operations and broader community-wide initiatives for years to come. Deadline to take the survey is Monday, May 25, 2026.
Please also share the survey with friends, family, and neighbors throughout Washington County — broad community participation is essential to creating an effective and inclusive plan.
