Sustainable Stillwater MN is inviting community members to roll up their sleeves and help restore critical bird habitat at Lumberjack Landing Park during our upcoming volunteer planting event, Lumberjack Landing Planting for Birds.

On Sunday, June 7, volunteers will help plant approximately 175 native, climate-resilient trees and shrubs along the St. Croix River flyway. This restoration effort supports migratory birds, strengthens biodiversity, and helps create a healthier, more resilient ecosystem in one of Stillwater’s newest public green spaces.
Lumberjack Landing sits directly along a major migratory route used by neotropical birds traveling between Minnesota and South America. Native plantings provide important shelter, food sources, and resting habitat during migration seasons while also improving long-term climate resilience for the area.
This project is part of Sustainable Stillwater MN’s Bird City program and continues ongoing restoration efforts made possible through Tropical Wings grant funding and partnership with the City of Stillwater Forestry Department.
