Help Us Share Valley Climate Action Week

We have a love-hate relationship with social media. It helps us reach our community, but sometimes it also gets in the way.

Sustainable Stillwater MN is excited to host our first-ever Valley Climate Action Week, September 14–19, 2026. Unfortunately, nearly all of the Facebook and Instagram posts we have tried to advertise or boost have been rejected by Meta because they were categorized as "political" or "social issue" content.

We find that frustrating.

Sustainable Stillwater MN is nonpartisan, and our events are focused on practical solutions, science education, and bringing people together. Climate Action Week will feature community bike rides, clean water and air, gardens, health, efficiency, saving money, storytelling, children’s futures, and the relationship between our environment and local economy.

These aren’t radical ideas. Caring for our community, using resources wisely, and leaving a healthy future for the next generation should be shared American values.

Since we cannot rely on paid promotion to spread the word, we need your help:

• Share our Valley Climate Action Week posts.

• Invite your friends, family, and neighbors.

• Talk about the events in your community groups.

• Most importantly, show up September 14–19.

Together, we can overcome the limits of social media and make this week a joyful, hopeful celebration of community action.

Please share our information far and wide—and help us show that the St. Croix Valley cares about our community, our health, our environment, and the future we leave behind.
