Our team at Sustainable Stillwater MN is thrilled to bring the first-ever Valley Climate Action Week to the St. Croix Valley, September 14–19, 2026!

This week is more than a series of events. It is our mission coming to life:

We create and support local projects that promote sustainability in the Stillwater, Minnesota area.

Valley Climate Action Week reflects the three pillars that guide our work—Economy, Environment, and Community and demonstrates what becomes possible when we work together.

A Week to Learn, Connect, and Act

Throughout the week, residents, businesses, nonprofits, schools, local governments, and community leaders are invited to learn, volunteer, connect, and take meaningful action close to home.

The schedule includes something for everyone!

On Thursday, September 17, we will gather for A Celebration of Science & Sustainability, featuring powerful Minnesota climate voices Dr. Heidi Roop, Dr. Mark Seeley, and Paul Douglas, along with live music by Peter Mayer. It will be an inspiring evening filled with science, hope, connection, and opportunities to support local action.

At the heart of Valley Climate Action Week is our commitment to creating a welcoming and safe environment where every voice is valued.

We are especially committed to including young people, listening to their ideas, and supporting their leadership. The decisions we make today will shape the land, water, economy, and community they inherit. Through education, engagement, and action, we want to create hope and help build a healthy future for everyone.

Valley Climate Action Week gives us an opportunity to bring people from across sectors and generations together, not only to talk about solutions, but to experience what community-powered climate action can look like.

Our goal is to make Valley Climate Action Week as free and accessible as possible. Most events are free, and a no-cost admission option is available for our Thursday evening celebration.
