VCAW DAY 1 — MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026
Valley Network Day: Connecting People, Ideas & Action
Valley Climate Action Week is officially here! We’re kicking off the week with Valley Network Day, a celebration of the people, organizations, businesses, and ideas helping create a stronger, more sustainable St. Croix Valley.
Monday offers two very different ways to get involved—from a creative, student-led clothing swap to an inspiring evening of climate science and conversation. There’s still room to join us, so pick an event, bring a friend, and be part of the first day of VCAW!

3–4 PM | Stillwater Area High School
Stillwater Area High School students can start the week by refreshing their wardrobes while giving clothing a second life. The Sustainable Style Swap, presented in partnership with Style Xchange, combines secondhand fashion with creativity and hands-on upcycling.
Students can bring clean, gently used clothing to swap with classmates, then visit creative stations featuring fabric paint, stencils, screen printing, repair techniques, and more. No experience is necessary, and students can participate even if they don’t have clothing to swap.
It’s a fun reminder that sustainability doesn’t have to mean giving something up—it can mean finding a more creative way to use what we already have.
6:30–8:30 PM | Woodbury Central Park Amphitheater
Monday evening, head to Woodbury for C-Change Conversations, featuring nationally recognized climate communicator Kathleen Biggins.
Kathleen will offer an approachable, science-based look at climate change, its local impacts, and the practical solutions available to communities. The conversation is designed for people across different backgrounds and viewpoints, with an emphasis on understanding, connection, and respectful dialogue rather than political debate.
Whether you’re just beginning to learn about climate change or already spend plenty of time thinking about it, this is an opportunity to better understand the science and connect it to the places and people around us.
Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome as space allows.
Why it’s part of VCAW
Valley Climate Action Week is about more than one type of climate action. It’s about connecting people, ideas, and action throughout the St. Croix Valley. Monday demonstrates that beautifully—from students exploring clothing reuse and creativity to neighbors gathering for meaningful conversations about climate science and solutions.
There’s still room to be part of the week. Come learn something new, meet someone new, and discover where your own climate action can begin.
