Bird City Festival Day: A Joyful Finale for the Whole Community
We made it to the finale!
After six days of learning, connecting, exploring, riding, celebrating, and taking action, Valley Climate Action Week wraps up Saturday with a celebration of the natural world we all share.

10 AM–1 PM | Brown’s Creek Park
Bring the whole family to the Community Watershed Celebration & Bird Festival, a free event hosted by the Browns Creek Watershed District in partnership with Bird City / Sustainable Stillwater MN.
This is VCAW’s grand finale—and there’s still plenty of room to join the fun!
What can you expect?
🦅 Meet live raptors and experience birds of prey up close with expert wildlife educators.
🌿 Explore nature exhibits featuring local birds, habitats, pollinators, watersheds, and conservation.
🤝 Connect with local organizations, environmental nonprofits, and green businesses working to protect the St. Croix Valley.
🎨 Enter the Bird Costume Contest! Dress as your favorite wild bird and compete in the kids or adult category. Judging begins at noon, and costumes of all skill levels are welcome.
💡 Learn bird-friendly living tips and discover practical ways to make homes and neighborhoods safer for birds, including reducing window collisions, minimizing light pollution, and restoring habitat.

Who should attend?
Everyone!
Families, bird lovers, nature enthusiasts, curious kids, green businesses, conservation supporters, and anyone looking for a fun Saturday morning are invited.
You don’t need to be a birder to enjoy the festival. Just bring your curiosity—and maybe a bird costume!
Why it’s the VCAW finale
The Bird Festival brings together so many of the themes explored throughout Valley Climate Action Week: clean water, healthy habitats, biodiversity, community connections, local organizations, and practical action.
Birds depend on healthy ecosystems, and healthy ecosystems depend on people who care for them. Saturday gives us a chance to celebrate that connection while recognizing the environmental leadership happening throughout the St. Croix Valley.
After a full week of action, we couldn’t think of a better way to finish.
Bring your family. Invite your friends. Put on your best bird costume. And help us close out the first Valley Climate Action Week with a celebration of birds, people, and the places we all share!
