Celebration of Science & Sustainability: Celebrating Leadership & Looking Ahead

We’ve reached one of the biggest moments of Valley Climate Action Week!

Thursday is the Celebration of Science & Sustainability, an evening dedicated to the people, ideas, partnerships, and local leadership helping build a more sustainable St. Croix Valley.

And yes—there’s still room to be part of this special evening.

🔬 An Evening of Science, Leadership & Local Action

5:30–8:30 PM | Loft 214, Downtown Stillwater

Join us at the beautiful Loft 214 in historic downtown Stillwater for an evening that brings climate science and local action together.

Guests will hear from three leading climate and weather experts:

• Paul Douglas, meteorologist, entrepreneur, and author

• Mark Seeley, University of Minnesota climatologist

• Heidi Roop, Director of the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership

Together, they’ll help connect climate science, weather, business, community resilience, and practical solutions.

The evening will also recognize the recipients of the 2026 Sustainable Stillwater MN Sustainability Leadership Awards, celebrating people making meaningful contributions to sustainability throughout the St. Croix Valley.

Andi Arnold, Executive Director of Sustainable Stillwater MN, will close the evening with a community call to action, looking ahead at the work still to be done and the role each of us can play.

This event is for anyone who cares about the future of the St. Croix Valley—whether you’ve been involved with Sustainable Stillwater MN for years or have never attended an SSMN event before.

Come to learn. Come to celebrate someone you know. Come to meet people doing good work locally. Or simply come because you want to better understand what climate science means for our community.
