Land & Water Stewardship Day: Caring for the Places We Share
Tuesday is Land & Water Stewardship Day during Valley Climate Action Week—a day dedicated to the rivers, parks, landscapes, wildlife, and waterways that make the St. Croix Valley such a special place to call home.
With three events throughout the day, there are plenty of ways to get outside, learn something new, lend a hand, or simply have some fun with friends and neighbors. There’s still room to join us!
12–1 PM | Washington Square Park
What can a garden do for clean water and wildlife? Quite a lot!
Join Sustainable Stillwater MN and the Washington Conservation District for a guided look at a local rain garden and discover how these landscapes capture stormwater, reduce runoff, support native plants and wildlife, and protect our local waterways.
This free daytime tour is especially great for community members and seniors interested in native plants, sustainable landscaping, clean water, or practical ways to care for the land around them.
Come see sustainable stormwater management in action—and leave with ideas you can bring home to your own yard or neighborhood.
3:30–4:30 PM | Autumn Hills Park
Want to take immediate action? Join us for a one-hour Trash Dash at Autumn Hills Park!
We’ll spend 30–45 minutes cleaning up litter in the park before gathering for a group photo to celebrate the difference we made together. Sustainable Stillwater MN will provide the equipment, so all you need to bring is comfortable shoes and a willingness to help care for the place we call home.
It’s simple, hands-on, and a great reminder that small actions add up.
6:30–8 PM | Lift Bridge Brewing Taproom
Finish the day with a little friendly competition at Climate Trivia Night, hosted during Lift Bridge Brewing’s popular Townie Tuesday Trivia.
Grab your friends and test your knowledge of climate, conservation, wildlife, renewable energy, sustainability, and local environmental efforts. You don’t have to be a trivia champion—everyone is welcome!
The event is free to attend, with food and beverages available for purchase, and proceeds benefit Sustainable Stillwater MN’s local sustainability programming.

Land and water stewardship can sometimes feel like a big concept, but Tuesday brings it down to earth. A rain garden, a cleaner park, and a better understanding of the natural world are all examples of local action that can make a difference.
Whether you spend your lunch hour learning about stormwater, your afternoon picking up litter, or your evening laughing over climate trivia, there’s a place for you during VCAW.
