We could use your help this weekend! The Stillwater Sunrise Rotary is having their second annual Bridge the Valley - Bike Rally on Sunday, August 14th. This event is a key component of Sustainable Stillwater MN and its efforts to promote and advance Stillwater as a Bicycle Friendly Community. Bicycling events like this help build the awareness and culture of bicycling in Stillwater, as well as bring bicyclists in from many other parts of the midwest to demonstrate the great bicycling environment in Stillwater, and promote Stillwater as a "bicycling destination".
The event has five exciting bicycle rides that will be fun for any level of bicycling expertise. All routes start and end in downtown Stillwater (at the end of the Lift Bridge) and there are treats, food, and live entertainment in North Lowell Park for all of the participants.
There are two possible ways to help with this event:
VOLUNTEER: Contact Rick Heidick (event co-chair) at artyhide@gmail.com to sign up and help with the event. There are a number of ways to help: from set-up (6-10am) or tear down (4-6pm), or a number of options during the day. Volunteers are still needed, so help us make this event a huge success.
REGISTER AND RIDE: If you wish to participate in the event, go to BikeReg at https://www.bikereg.com/bridge-the-valley and ride one of the routes. All participants will have a great time bicycling along one of our beautiful St. Croix Valley routes, and will receive either a free root beer float or Lift Bridge beer at the finish. There will also be live entertainment, sponsored by the Zephyr theater, and there will be other food and drink options for purchase. All-in-all, a great time for all participants.
