EcoQuest Game Night: Where Games Meet Sustainability

What do radioactive bees, ecosystems, and oil spills have in common? They all showed up at EcoQuest Game Night during Valley Climate Action Week!

Eleven community members gathered for an evening of games and learning, playing Radioactive Bees, Ecosystem, and Oil Spill — games that explore environmental challenges, biodiversity, ecosystems, and the delicate relationships that shape our natural world.

It was a small group, but there was plenty of enthusiasm around the table. Participants had fun learning the games, trying out new strategies, and discovering how sustainability concepts can show up in an unexpected place: game night.

One especially great moment came when a participant arrived specifically hoping to learn more about one of the games. Jeff took the time to help her get started and even arranged a future game night with her and her friends. It was a simple example of how these events can create connections that continue beyond VCAW.

Jeff also brought all of the games and shared his expertise, providing in-kind support. We’re grateful for his time and enthusiasm, as well as the continued support of the Lift Bridge Coworking Space.

EcoQuest was a fun reminder that learning about the natural world doesn’t always have to happen in a classroom. Sometimes, it happens through play, strategy, and a little friendly competition.
