Sustainable Stillwater MN picked as Community Conservationist for 2021

Washington Conservation District has picked Sustainable Stillwater MN as their Community Conservationist for 2021.

The MASWCD/MPCA Community Conservationist Award honors an individual, business, municipality, or organization for their concern, cooperation, and/or implementation of conservation practices in a community environment. "Sustainable Stillwater MN is truly acting as a community catalyst and providing important support to amplify the work of our organization, including recruiting and supporting volunteers for Adopt a Raingarden and Adopt a Drain; organizing volunteers to stencil storm drains in the city; conducting a large-scale clean-up of the Lily Lake buffer planting; and creating a Green Business Directory to engage local businesses in water conservation and sustainability practices," the organization says in a statement. In recognition of the many relevant activities of the SSMN Natural Resources Workgroup over several years, Workgroup Leader Louise Watson was invited to attend the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts' annual convention on Monday, Dec. 13 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Bloomington. The awards will be presented at the luncheon. Toot toot!
